The Letter to the Church at Sardis
Matt Dennings - September 24th, 2023
Text: Revelation 3:1-6
Self-reliance tells us we have all that we need, and this prevents us from fervent commitment to Christ. However, when we invite Christ to meet our most vulnerable needs, we experience the true riches He offers. In the last week of our Revelation sermon series, Matt Dennings preaches through Revelation 3:14-22 on the letter to the church in Laodicea.
What doors do you desire for God to open? In our pursuits, we can often miss the open doors Jesus has already set before us. He has placed people in our lives who we are not to see as inconveniences but as opportunities for Kingdom impact. Listen as Matt Dennings shares Christ’s intentional words to the church in Philadelphia in Revelation 3:7-13 and encourages us to focus on a legacy that truly matters.
When we honestly assess our lives, are we spiritually alive or do we settle for dying to live? As Jesus calls the spiritually dying church in Sardis to wake up and strengthen what remains, He calls us today. Listen as Matt Dennings shares Christ’s intentional words to the church in Sardis in Revelation 3:1-6.
The Letter to the Church at Thyatira
Matt Dennings - September 17th, 2023
Text: Revelation 2:18-29
God invites us to a life of joy and eternal impact. Sin, like the sirens in ancient mythology, fights for our attention and energy to divert us from this abundant life. What will it take to hold fast to Christ, being faithful in the small things and eventually in larger areas of Kingdom influence? Matt Dennings shares Christ’s intentional words to the church in Thyatira in Revelation 2:18-29.
The Letter to the Church at Pergamum
Matt Dennings - September 10th, 2023
Text: Revelation 2:12-17
When we are double-minded, assenting to some truths of Scripture while ignoring others, we forfeit freedom and intimacy with Christ. God confronts our double-minded lives with the double-edged sword of His Word - challenging us to repent, respond to His voice, and take hold of the gift of life with Him. Listen as Matt Dennings shares what Christ has to say to the church in Pergamum in Revelation 2:12-17 and how it applies today.
The Letter to the Church at Smyrna
Matt Dennings - September 3rd, 2023
Text: Revelation 2:8-11
How do we know we are prepared to stand against pressure or even persecution for our faith in Christ? When trouble comes, we trust that God uses the resistance we experience to refine us, and we resolve to believe our true riches come from knowing God Himself. Listen as Matt Dennings shares the call to perseverance from the letter to Smyrna in Revelation 2:8-11.
The Letter to the Church in Ephesus
Matt Dennings - August 27th, 2023
Text: Revelation 2:1-7
Even religious activity and a passion for truth can come from a heart far from the love of God. When we, like the church in Ephesus, replace our love of God with attempts to earn love, how do we rediscover the affection for God we had at first? Listen as Matt Dennings unpacks what it looks like to return to our first love, remembering the One who embraces us in a love that never lets us go.
